| A Message from Sonja | Author Bio | Questions & Answers |

Author Sonja Bentley Zant is a former marketing and technical writer with a passion for storytelling. She started her own writing business in 2001 and quickly established herself as a top freelance professional, specializing in biotech writing and technical documentation. But Sonja's love of laughter and connecting with women on a deeper level inspired her to leave her lucrative business behind and start working on Hurricane Season – her first novel – in the summer of 2005.
Last fall, Sonja launched Hurricane Season and is incredibly pleased with the response to her message of living a life with clearly defined nonnegotiables. Helping women discover and cherish their own value is what Hurricane Season is all about, and it is Sonja’s deepest desire to not only entertain, but also inspire her readers to hold out for greater things in their lives.
Currently, Sonja is working on her second novel entitled, It’s Nothing Serious, which gives her the forum to explore another very personal topic: cancer. As a cancer survivor in her eleventh year of remission, Sonja has decided to use her talent for storytelling to expose her readers to some of the deeper truths and hidden gifts found within the realities of cancer. It is the story of how one woman finds new presence of mind in the midst of her disease, and how this newfound awareness gives her the ability to fully live her life for the very first time. It is about living in the moment and coming to the end of your life knowing without a shadow of a doubt, that you’ve left nothing undone.
Sonja lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband Lou. In addition, Sonja is the stepmother to two grown boys – Joey, 26, and Jordan, 19. Her family and friends are the biggest source of joy in her life and always provide tremendous fodder for future novels!
